Dr Simone Dowling
Dr Simone Dowling graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Medicine. After graduation she worked at Gosford Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital, prior to choosing to specialise in General Practice. Simone has completed her Diploma of Child Health and her Fellowship of General Practice and has since worked as a General Practitioner in both regional and rural NSW. Simone has worked in the Faculty of Medicine at Notre Dame University Sydney, as a senior academic lecturer.
Simone moved to Brisbane with her family in 2011, where she expanded her General Practice experience working for Medibank After-Hours GP Hotline, Family Planning Queensland/TRUE and Inala Primary Care.
Simone is passionate about complete health care for women and adolescents, including reproductive health, sexual health, obstetric care, contraception and the management of menopause. Her broader General Practice interests cover mental health and chronic disease management including diabetes, kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. Simone is a registered GP Shared Care Doctor with the Mater Mothers’ Hospital and a Diabetes Fellow with the Brisbane South Complex Diabetes Service. She is also involved in teaching and supervision of training GP’s.
Simone is excited to be joining the experienced team at the Lillian Cooper Centre in early 2020.
When not working, Simone delights in spending time with her husband and three children, at the beach, camping and exploring Australia!
