Do I need a referral to attend the Lilian Cooper Centre?

No, a referral is not required for our General Practioners. In order to obtain a Medicare rebate, you may require a referral to see Rachel Tyson. Our reception staff can provide more detailed information.

How much will my consultation cost?

The Lilian Cooper Centre is a privately billing practice with payment required at the time of consultation. The fees will vary depending on the length and complexity of your consultation and any procedures performed. A portion of the fee is able to be refunded from Medicare, if you hold a current Medicare card. We are able to offer online submission of your claims at the time of payment, this allows your rebate to be deposited into your bank account within 24-48 hours. Please ensure you have your bank details registered with Medicare. Please contact reception for exact consult fees.


How do I make an appointment?

How may I contact my doctor during business hours?

Your phone call will be taken by the reception staff and a message given to the doctor. Your call will be returned when the doctor is next available. Sometimes it will be necessary for our reception staff to ask sensitive questions in order to assess the urgency of your enquiry. Please be reassured they are there to help you, so it is important to give as much information as possible so we can help you as quickly as possible. Please note that there is a $15 administration fee for any scripts or referrals requested via telephone or email. 


How can I obtain emergency help after hours?

We recommend contacting the St Andrews Hospital Priority Emergency Department, located in North Street through the main hospital entrance. Their telephone number is 07 3834 4455. They will send through a report to your doctor.
