Laser Therapy for Vaginal Atrophy:

Vaginal atrophy is a condition that occurs as women age and results in a dry and itchy vagina. Other common symptoms associated with vaginal atrophy include pain during sex, urine leakage, burning and dryness of the vagina, and prolapse. Until now, the mainstay of treatment has been topical or oral hormone therapy.

Laser therapy is an alternative to topical vaginal medications or it can be used as an addition to medications. It is a straight-forward and safe procedure and results in more hydrated and healthy tissues lining the walls of the vagina. Improvement is generally seen after one treatment; however most ladies will require three treatments each separated by around three months.
